Secret: Many baked goods in the U.S. have potassium bromate. Potassium bromate or bromated flour can be found in pizza, wraps, rolls, bread crumbs, and bagel chips. It can cause growth in tumors, its a carcinogen, linked to kidney failure, and cell deterioration. This ingredient has be banned in the U.K. and Canada but the FDA has only encouraged companies to stop using the product since 1991. It can still be found in at least 86 different products.
