Labels can be helpful for looking at nutritional information, but unfortunately a lot of information gets left out. Some ingredients found on labels, if we all did our research, would have us leaving some of our favorite foods at the grocery store. Here are just a few:
Bread contains human hair: L-cysteine is an amino acid used in dough to help condition the bread. The cheapest way of deriving this amino acid is from human hair. YUCK
Buggy Candy Glaze: Shellac is a secret ingredient found in most candies to keep its shape and to keep the candy from melting in your palm. Shellac is derived from a bug in India. Also YUCK
A side of rodent hair: Many mass produced products will contain rodent hairs, the FDA ALLOWS one rodent hair per 100 grams of peanut butter.
Secret: Many of your beloved foods may contain ingredients you wouldn’t dream of giving your pet, let alone ingesting yourself. Research your ingredients in the foods you find!
